Welcome to the Portsmouth Youth Football League (PYFL) — a league with a proud history, a strong community spirit and a passion for giving young people the opportunity to enjoy football.

Established in 1906, the Portsmouth Youth Football League is proud to be celebrating its 120th anniversary in 2026. For 120 years, the league has played an important role in youth football across Portsmouth and the surrounding areas, creating opportunities for children and young people to develop their skills, make friends and enjoy the beautiful game.

Today, the PYFL is one of the largest youth football leagues in the south of England, serving Portsmouth and the surrounding area and we have nearly 400 teams signed up for the 26/27 season.

As we celebrate 120 years of the Portsmouth Youth Football League, we are proud to support players, coaches, volunteers, referees and families who make grassroots football possible and look forward to continuing that proud tradition and helping the next generation of young footballers enjoy, develop and thrive in the game.
